The Directory accepts paid ads to help support the cost of maintaining this site. Ads are $25/month, and when you purchase an ad, it is placed in rotation with all other ads. If there are twenty active ads, your ad will be shown on every twentieth page
If your business has its own Web site, when someone clicks on the banner ad, they will be transferred directly to your business' Web site. The directory keeps track of how many times your ad has been seen and how many times it has been clicked, and you can see this any time you wish by logging in and clicking on "My banners" on the right hand side menu.
Ads can be 120 x 120 pixels in size, and are limited to 100 kilobytes in size; for best results, the file should be a GIF or JPEG image format.
Follow these simple steps to place an ad.
- You must have a user account on the site. You can use the same username and password that you created to place a free listing. It is not necessary to create a new username for a paid ad. If you have not yet created a username, then create a new account on the site so that you have a username and password. You must have a username and password before you can place an ad or create a business listing.
- Once you have received your username and password by email, return to the Web site and log in (right on the home page).
- Once you have logged in, you will see a new menu on the right hand side of the Web page with your username at the top of the menu. Click on "Create content". You will now see an option for "Banner." Click "Banner" and fill in the form completely. Pay close attention to required fields, as all required fields must be filled out completely to get the listing completed.
- Once you have filled in all the fields, click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form. If you do not click the "Submit" button, your ad will NOT BE CREATED."
- Once you have filled in the form and clicked the "Submit" button, you should get a new Web page confirming that your ad has been created. You may now check by clicking on "My banners" on the menu on the right hand side. You should see information about your banner ad on the "My Banners" Web page. Check the URL carefully to make sure that you have typed it correctly (so that when someone clicks on your ad they are directed to your business Web site).
- Test your ad by clicking on it (you may have to click on several different pages to get it to show up). You want to make sure that you have typed the URL correctly so that when someone clicks on your ad they are directed to your business Web site.
